It is stated on the above source that Degory Priest was born around 1579, probably England. There is no location noted. The volume used as a source states that his parents might have been Peter and Joanna Prust, baptized at Harland, Devonshire, England on 11 August 1582.
Degory and his wife Sarah Allerton married in Leiden, Netherlands, on 4 November 1611.
He and his wife had 2 daughters, both born in Leiden: Mary who was born on or about 1613, and Sarah born 2 years later.
Degory traveled to North America by himself, possibly to establish a residence in Plymouth. He was a signer on the Mayflower Compact.
Degory passed during the "General sickness" during the Pilgrims first year at Plymouth. Nearly half of the Mayflower passengers died during the winter of 1620 to 1621.
We are related to Degory through Sarah and her husband John Coombs. They married 1 August 1646.
